Silent and mysterious, coming on to me yet shying away:
Never knowing what you'll do from one day to the next.
You've become a challenge to me--
someone to convince of my worth as a person and a friend.
My "latest project," some call you, but that sounds so cold
and much too impersonal to describe my determination.
No matter what it takes, I'll break through the shell you've built to protect yourself from the pain
And show you how to be my friend.
