*Haiku Friday is hosted by LouCeel
She waited for him
To say she was not crazy--
That he felt it too.
She waited for him
To say what she longed to hear--
"Forever, my love."
She waited for him
On that dreary winter day
It all became real.
She waited for him
When it would have been easy
To just walk away
She waited for him
To decide if he wanted
To be in her life
She waited for him
Until he told her goodbye
And left her alone
She still waits for him
Day after day after day
Hoping he'll return.

Wonderful. I love the repeating first line - tying it all together. Outstanding 'Ku. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis was done so well, it doesn't even appear to be a haiku unless you know what to look for.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those that woke me up in the middle of the night with the first three stanzas, so I had to grab my notebook and write it down, then finish it the next morning!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully crafted.
