Constant Craving

It's always been there--
That longing for something"more":
Never knowing what "more" was,
Just that something was missing.
Often thinking that I'd found it,
I soon wound up moving on again,
Disappointed and disillusioned.
Until there was you--
You touched my soul,

My heart, my mind,

And we formed a connection

Stronger than we could have dreamed.

And now, and forever,

My constant craving is for you.

Devil In Disguise

He's a devil in disguise--

One look too many into those eyes of Carolina blue

And you're mesmerized;

Words roll off his silver tongue

And go straight to your heart.

Before you realize what's going on,

He's in all your thoughts and dreams,

And you're longing for his touch,

His kiss, his love.

And if you give in to his sweet temptation

You'll be under his spell forever and beyond.

Trying my hand at writing tanka, a Japanese poetry form composed of lines of 5-7-5-7-7 syllables.

Dark and gloomy day
Raindrops fall upon my cheeks
Blending with my tears
Sadness wraps me in blackness
And I long to see the sun.

Home At Last

For years I searched for a home--

That one place where I could be me

And be accepted just the way I am.

Imagine my surprise

When I realized that home

Isn't a place, but a person.

Home is you...your love, your acceptance...

And with you is where I need to be.
