Love's Colors

Loving you has brought a fabulous array of color into my life:

Red is for the hot, unspoken passions between us,

waiting to erupt at the slightest signal from the other.

Green is for the jealousy I feel whenever I must share you with others.

Blue is for the tears I cry when we're apart,

afraid of losing you--and your love--forever.

Purple is for the welcoming darkness of the nights I long to share with you, giving myself completely.

Please don't send me back to a black and white existence.

Love's Rainbow

Loving you brought a rainbow of color to my life:

Red in the rosy glow you put back in my cheeks;

Yellow in the golden hair I ran my fingers through;

Green in my envy of any other girl who caught your eye.

One color is seen most often in my world:

Aside from being the color of the eyes where I could lose myself with no effort at all,

Blue is for the tears flowing down my cheeks and the emptiness within my heart and soul.

Now that you've walked out of my life, all the colors in my rainbow are blue.
