The Little Things

It's not the grand or glorious things you can give

That draw me to you like steel to a magnet;

It's the little things, insignificant to those

Who've never known love like we share.

It's the smile you wear each time we meet,

The tender way you softly breathe my name.

It's walking in rain or under starry skies,

Feeling your arms pull me closer to you.

It's stealing kisses any time we get the chance,

And it's those three words I'll never tire of hearing--or saying.

Yes, it's the little things that make me love you so.

There were times

I thought I'd found love without you

But it would fade in the daylight

And I'd be alone once more.

There were times

I thought my future was set

But you would walk back in the door

And turn it upside down.

There were times

I thought I'd never want to see you again

But you would flash that disarming smile

And mesmerize me all over again.

There were times

I thought I'd spend forever with you,

Sharing the good times and bad--

And this is one of those times.

Man With The Smiles In Your Eyes

Man with the smiles in your eyes,

Will you take me along wherever your dreams lead?

You always seem so full of life and love it fills me with awe,

and I am eager to share it with you.

Through all the days that are to come,

teach me to find joy in the little things,

beauty in everything and everyone,

Judging nothing merely by appearance but looking deeper to find the inner good.
